Bear Hands
I got some new gloves/mittens from River Island a couple of weeks ago. I really wanted the matching hat as well but it didn't really fit my massive head so I settled for just the gloves. Here they are:
and these are my matching nails
Done with Barry M Cyan Blue, China Glaze White on White & Patent Leather and a really old unknown toffee coloured Barry M nail varnished mixed with the white to make cream.
I think I'll go put those gloves on now to type. It's freezing!

Barry M Instant Nail Effects
I've seen crackle nail varnish before but never one from a brand I could buy in the UK so I was very excited when one of my friends posted about this on Facebook. I hummed and harred about it for a bit but when I saw it for sale in my local Superdrug I couldn't resist after all it's only £3.95.
It's only available in black and it's very easy to get some really funky looking nails out of this bottle. It's a lot thicker than normal nail varnish and you have to apply it very quickly, it says you can't go over the same bit of nail twice but I've found as long as you're quick and not applying too thick a layer it's fine. Thinner layers make it easier for the nail varnish to 'crack' and the quicker they dry the bigger the cracks become so if you want more of the base colour to show try blowing on your nails as they dry.
This is Instant Nail Effects over Models Own Sterling Silver. I think it gives a cool look, almost like graffiti.
The effect I ended up with definitely looks like the design on the lid but nothing like the pictures on the label (not seen in photo)
If you haven't already tried crackle nail varnish I'd say this is a must, I'm already thinking about buying a backup bottle.

London Nails
I spent all day Sunday in London meeting up with some friends. I had a brilliant time and they all admired my London themed nails :)
Left Hand:
Ring Finger: Barry M Cobalt Blue, China Glaze White on White and a Red Sharpie
Thumb: OPI What's With the Cattitude?, China Glaze White on White, Barry M Black, Barry M Grey and the brown colour is one I blended using a few browns in my collection. It's supposed to be Big Ben (in case you couldn't tell.)
All other nails: Barry M Cobalt Blue
Right Hand:
I don't recommend trying to cut corners and using a red sharpie instead of red nail varnish. It worked but even though I left it to try for about 15 minutes before I applied top coat it still smudged a bit.

Orly Mirror Mirror and M65
I wanted something quite subtle today and Mirror Mirror has been sitting unused in a drawer since I bought it a few months ago.
I didn't want it that subtle so added some flowers from Konad M65 using Barry M Grey. That pattern always reminds me of wallpaper so I added China Glaze Matte Magic to make it look even more like wallpaper.
And the Matte hides the dent in my thumb as well (stamping accident) *thumbs up*

Zip it!
I told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore nail varnish for a while but when I saw the OPI Summer Flutter collection I couldn't stop myself.
This is Flit A Bit:
It is an amazing creme orange and I am in love. It's a colour that screams summer, it's opaque in 2 coats or 3 if you're using the rubbish mini brush and missed bits like I did. I adore the little mini OPI bottles I think they're so cute how they're exact replicas of the normal sizes but I hate, hate the teeny tiny brushes they use. I'll put up with it since I get four colours for pretty much the same price as a full sized bottle.
I recently bought some new image plates from ArtDeco and one of them has a zip design that I couldn't wait to try out.
I've just realised I had the zip the wrong way up, boo
Close up with the zip the right way up:
I've had a few comments on this design; the orange and yellow make it very eye-catching.

Pink Polka Dots
Pink polka dots! Simple and sweet.
It's Avon's Nailwear Pro Enamel in Viva Pink with polka dots from Konad plate M79 with Barry M Matt White. The Barry M didn't work very well for Konading so I had to go over it again with a dotting tool.
The bracelet is one my mam bought me from New Look, thanks mam!I love polka dots! I have no idea why it's taken me this long to do this design!

Cobalt Blue Butterflies
I got Barry M Cobalt blue a few weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Actually I might be lying there I think it's one of the many colours in this mani here. So I decided today was going to be the day I used it properly.
It was glossy and lovely, full coverage in almost one coat. To add some interest I added once of the water decal butterflies from my Viva La Diva pack.
This was my first go at using water decals and I love them! So easy to use, just dunk your design in water and stick it on with plenty of time to reposition if you're not happy with it. One it's on you can't see the edges at all which is one of my pet peeves of nail stickers.

England vs USA
This wasn't supposed to be a football manicure at all, it was going to be polka dots. I painted my nails red this morning, I was going to Konad them when I got back from shopping but I guess I got caught world cup fever in the meantime ;)
The idea isn't my own; I stole part of it from My Nail Polish Addiction
And the England cup is from Tesco
The flag was done with a base colour of H&M Red Nail. The cross was done by blocking out the cross with sellotape and doing the rest with Barry M Matt White. I must say I'm surprised this worked. If I was going to do this mani in the first place I would have done white first, then red but actually the Matt White covered the red in just two coats, I'm impressed!

Cherry Print
This was my first go at stamping tips. It was much more difficult than I thought! I have skinny nails and they're rather curved so I had to roll the image to make it go over the entire nail and smudged it Every. Single. Time. Pah
Although it doesn't look that bad with it being subtle colours.
The base colour is Barry M Lemon Ice Cream. It's more bright yellow than lemon and took a good three coats before it stopped looking remotely patchy. In fact if I was wearing it alone it would have needed a fourth coat to look perfect. The drying time isn't too bad, especially with a layer of Seche Vite as well.
The tips are from Bundle Monster BM17 done in Konad SP White. The cherries are from a fauxnad plate I got from eBay done in Konad SP Red and Konad Princess Polish Deep Jungle.
